Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable Television Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
